Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate Application:

Hydroxypinacolone retinoate(HPR) is a retinol derivative with function of regulating the metabolism of the epidermis and stratum corneum. It can resist aging, reduce seborrhea, dilute epidermal pigment and prevent skin aging & acne, whitening and lightening spots.

HPR is formed by the dehydration condensation of retinoic acid and pinacol. Compared with retinaldehyde and retinol, HPR has higher stability but less irritation. Due to its small molecular weight, it is easily absorbed through the skin and can directly bind to cellular retinoic acid receptors (RARs). This ensures the powerful effects of retinol while greatly reducing its irritation. It is currently used for anti-aging and preventing recurrence of acne.
